The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced that Hip Hop Veteran and West Coast Rap pioneer Snoop Dogg will induct Tupac Shakur, ironically, in Brooklyn on April 7th, 2017.
The pair worked together on numerous projects and are renowned for classic tracks such as “Gangsta Party” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted”.
On June 16, 2017, Tupac would have reached his 46th birthday. It’s also the release date of “All Eyez on Me”, a biopic centered around Tupac by Lionsgate.
In an interview with Demetrius Shipp Jr. (the actor set to play Tupac in the biopic) Snoop talked about the first time he met Tupac. He mentions going back and forth with the Hip Hop legend in an impromptu battle and shortly after, Tupac broke up Snoop’s first blunt.
Here’s the link to the interview. Coincidentally, Snoop talks about this part at exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds into it. Check it out:
At first glance, it makes perfect sense to have Snoop induct Tupac, but who else could you see inducting Tupac Shakur into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Comment below.
